The Retreat is an a truly amazing location with breathtaking and endless views of the surrounding countryside. It is characterful, clean and comfortable where every single detail has been carefully thought about. We didn’t miss anything from home. Thank you, Ali. :) We very much appreciated the welcome pack of essential items and the fresh fruit basket! Our children made friends with Ali’s adorable dogs and there was a lots of play in the garden which was one of the highlights of our stay. We all enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere including the sheep grazing on the neighbouring hills and the nesting skylarks and house martins. There was plenty of things to do and explore for a week’s stay only a short walk or drive away.

The views are spectacular. The bed and sofas were really comfortable. The bed linen was high quality as were the towels . Ali is very helpful and responsive. We appreciated the welcome pack.

Everything was great!

Very friendly welcome, very much appreciated. Lovely welcome basket , everything we needed was there to a very high standard . Beautiful setting. Just sorry we forgot to write in the guest book, we were going to come back to write in the book but had to get home . Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will return if there is availability.

Wonderful property, everything you could want ot need for a peaceful break. Spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean, gorgeous private garden, parking, supoer beds and food linen, very welcome and handy basket of provisions.

If someone could move the pub halfway up the hill, that'd be great! Nothing not to like otherwise!

Location. Beautiful views across the Wye Valley. The property was beautifully converted and thoughtfully furnished with everything you would need for a lovely holiday break.

This is a gorgeous place to stay. Ali has thought about everything, and then thought again, about all the things you'd never think about & don't realise you need, until you do. We loved the location & the views. The private garden is a beautiful place to sit in the sun for breakfast & tea. Hay is just a 15 min easy drive away (we didn't notice the hill issues that others have mentioned). I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Thank you Ali!
