The Retreat

Ali was a great host. She provided a lovely welcome basket of goodies and was really helpful. The cottage was full of useful local information and maps which were excellent. The location was stunning , beautiful views from the garden which we enjoyed. The facilities were excellent, good cooker and hob as well as dishwasher , all with instructions 🙂 The bedrooms were comfortable and cosy. We had a very relaxing 5 days

Stunning location, beautiful very well appointed accommodation even binoculars! Very comfy beds. Delightful host. The best place we have ever stayed in. Very well equipped garden with table and chairs, sun loungers and breathtaking views.

Nothing!

Everything, from the little touches of milk and fruit and cookies basket to the spectacular view. The beds were super comfy and huge for both of us to have a bed each. The property is a home from home environment, I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you want just animal and bird noises. Ali was so welcoming and such a lovely host.

There is nothing to not like.

The views are incredible, and the garden furniture is set up perfectly to enjoy them. The Retreat was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a lovely weekend.

I don't think I've ever given a 10 rating before! And we travel a lot. This barn conversion is beautifully designed, a perfect blend of old and new. It has character (beams and stone pillars) but is spacious as well as cosy, with high quality modern bathroom and kitchen, and underfloor heating in the living room. Interesting and authentic artwork on the walls. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. Very comfortable beds and efficient shower with constant hot water. Plus gorgeous views, easy parking, efficient and friendly host (who lives next door but never intrudes). And wonderful walks and scenery in the surrounding area. Lots of useful maps and guidebooks so if you haven't had time to research your destination (like us!) don't worry! Oh yes, and the garden is fabulous too. Ali has a perfect creative but light touch.

The views and location were spectacular. Everything in the house was to a high standard which made our trip very special.
