The Wee Coolins-holiday home with wood burner

Beautifully presented home with all the facilities you need whilst on holiday. We saved money cooking our own meals.

The bed was very low and short due to a tail board for the average person.

Clean and well equipped

Bedroom very small, all local facilities closed, very noisy from the accommodation above. Every footstep and every time water was used it was extremely noisy - this wasn’t anything to do with who was staying there, but an issue with the property

Close to restaurant an pub an we had a great kitchen

The cottage is lovely. It is spacious and clean and well equipped. We were forced to stay home due to a bad storm and it made for a great place to rest up and enjoy a cosy day in. The apartment is in a very small hamlet of few houses. There is a station and a pub though and the surroundings are just beautiful. The sofabed was very comfortable.

We had read about it being noisy. We were lucky and the people who were in the apartment above us were very considerate and we only heard them occasionally walk on the wooden floor and move some chairs around (which is normal for this type of houses). The water pump can be very noisy though. We understand that having less careful neighbors and not having a high tolerance for this type of noise could be a problem. We did not mind and had a very pleasant stay, but when the water is opened the noise is indeed remarkable. So if you want quiet this apartment is not for you.

Extremely well equiped kitchen. Living area was very comfortable. The bathroom had a bath which is always nice to have after long days walking. Also, the washing machine was useful. Decor of the house was lovely.

The property appears to be effectively a downstairs flat, that was originally part of the larger house (the Coolins). This in itself was not an issue, but the soundproofing in the bedroom means that you very clearly hear people moving aroind upstairs. Again fine most of the time, but twice we were woken up at around 6 in the morning by people moving upstairs. This may have just been a one off.
