The Coolins cottage with wood burner

The house was very comfortable for our family. It was clean and well organised

The kitchen cooking utensils didn’t meet our expectations from a self catering. It needs to be updated.

Beds were comfy.. modern.. spotlessly clean.. We met the caretaker who was helpful with check in..

Finishing touches were missing.. no chairs in bedrooms, had to put clothes on the floor.. We book and expect to self cater and found the kitchen impossible to work in, equipment lacking.. Advert says accommodation for 6 but nowhere for 6 to sit in the lounge .. luckily we were only 3 or would have struggled.. This was the most expensive stay we booked on our trip.. we stayed in much better so therefore expected a higher standard..

A lovely cosy cottage....a perfect base to explore this beautiful area.... the Bealach na ba is a must!

Very comfortable stay at the Collins inn. We were 3 couples and so an ensuite in every room was fantastic. Smooth contactless checking. All basics provided, the woodfire was brilliant and appreciated it was already stocked with lots of firewood and lighters. Great base to travel to applecross (I recommend Applecross inn for food) and benn eigh. Strathcarron is very small. The pub within walking distance didn't seat us for dinner and so we had to drive to nearby Lochcarron.

Another couch and more kitchen items such as additional tea towels, coffee plungers would have been great.

Lovely cottage and was very clean. Great facilities and plenty room.

A few things would have improved our stay - lamp in lounge would be better than the ceiling light, more pillows, footstools and more relaxing chairs, proper garden furniture and the BBQ wasn’t there.

It was clean and liked that there was parking right outside the flat.

One of the beds was terribly uncomfortable. Could feel every board underneath the mattress. Only one pillow provided per guest and they were all flat. I woke with a sore neck every day. No coffee pot ☹️ the people in the cottage next to us (Wee Collins Cottage) we very loud. No dryer or anything to hang wet clothes out to dry on. We arrived on a Sunday evening and did not there was no where to buy groceries aside from Dingwall. Which would take an hour each way to drive. The local hotel was short handed and only offered food service for their guests. Needless to say, we were hungry. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.

The pillows were thin,possible two would be better.

Alarm kept beeping.

Was all good,suited our needs for a cycling based holiday.

Having a critical eye for things. Twin room shower basin, water slow to drain away. Shaving mirror loose, difficult to wet shave.
