Reindeer Lake Resort

Amazing place in remote nature by a lake

Rooms are clean and cozy. The fire pit by the lake is a nice place to watch the night sky. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights.

The slope at the entrance is very slippery when wet.

The location was wonderful. The property is on a reindeer farm next to a lake, surrounded by beautiful forests.

The location and character of the property were beautiful and the staff were lovely and had plenty of knowledge to share

Due to large amounts of snow the lakeside sauna was off limits and the grill was not accessible, we wanted to experience everything Finland so that sauna would have been unforgettable

We liked the stay there more than in 5 star resorts we stayed later in. That place had a winter magic in it and definitely exceeded our expectations. The farm is remotely located in the middle of snowy forest by the frozen lake. Since it is a reindeer farm the reindeer are everywhere around you. THe forest is so beautiful and quiet that snowshoeing through it was a more magic attraction than any other expensive activities we did in the area. The building you stay in has a sauna , two kitchens, big common dining area (so all groups feel comfortable) and a small souvenir shop ) with better or same prices than anywhere else). The room was specious and clean. The host nice and welcoming. And if you want to see the northern lights I think you have a better chance to see it there from the lake ( with no other lights nearby) than from any glass igloo surrounded by village lights. And you can book reindeer safari through this beautiful forest with no tourist around!

The place does not provide any food so do your shopping before coming because there are no shops nearby and the nearest restaurants are in Pello (20 km).

The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The wood burning stove was pretty and gave off a lot of heat. The common rooms were comfy. The sauna was very nice.

The property is located on a working reindeer farm. It was nice to meet the animals. The rooms are nicely decorated and cozy. The property is on a lake surrounded by forest. It is a restful place.

No dislikes

Our cottage was very cozy and warm, we had a well equipped kitchen for our meals and the place was clean. The view from the lake was amazing and we could see the northern lights from there. Anne-Marie was very nice and friendly and made us very comfortable, definitely recommend the place, can't wait to come back.

The shower was outside the cottage, but it didn't bother us much.
