Craigadam Lodge with Hot tub

The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were also brought a fresh loaf of bread made by Celia, Alice was very helpful with describing trips for the kids

We liked everything about our trip.

Brilliant location, views were amazing. Owner very friendly and welcomed us with a gift and baked some bread and cake for us.

Bedrooms/bathrooms are quite cold, would bring warm clothes for the evening.

Stunning views. Lovely location if you are wanting countryside. A car is a necessity, in my opinion. Friendly staff who are around if you need anything but aren't imposing. Very peaceful. Has a lovely little onsite play area which the kids loved. The cottage has a real homely welcoming feel to it.

Wish the hot tub was a little more private as we had families walking past us to go to the play area. We have kids so it wasn't a massive issue and its only in the day but if we came for a romantic break id be very conscious of children. Also only single beds in the accommodation and not beds that can really be pushed together but it does state that in the advert so thats my fault for thinking I could just push them together.

No meals with the booking but free delivery of home baked bread and freshly made cake was amazing and unexpected. Fabulous welcome pack, kind offers of hospitality, beautifully clean with a lovely hot tub with an amazing view. We could have spent all our time at the property without leaving the grounds. It was so relaxing and a real gift for a family which is very busy as well as living in different locations. Thank you SO much. Just brilliant. However, perhaps I should be less enthusiastic so that you have space for us to come again!

Nothing at all! Although if there had been towels that would have been even better. Bringing our own was not a problem as had the car but if space was limited or no car then it would have been difficult.

The cottage was warm, welcoming and surrounded by the most beautiful courtyard and gardens. The grounds are amazing with spectacular views over the countryside. Our host Celia was so kind, handing in home baked soda bread on our first morning and a delicious chocolate cake complete with mini chocolate bunnies on Easter Sunday. The house is only a few miles from Castle Douglas where we visited Threave National Trust garden and nature reserve that was recommended by Celia. We would definitely like to visit again.

Our only minor issue was that, although the house is single storey and manageable for people with limited mobility, it isn't really suitable for wheelchair users. My husband, an amputee, needs to use his wheelchair during the night to access the bathroom. Our bathroom was large enough to accommodate his wheelchair and had plenty of turning room but there was no level shower. This was okay for the 3 nights we visited as he made do with body washes but wouldn't have been suitable for a longer break. I understood the property was fully accessible but perhaps should have checked Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and would return.
