Hope Cottage, Great Longstone

Confortable and ideal for touring the Peak . We found it a bit cold when we arrived until we managed to work out the heating

Just a bit small for 4 people

Location was great. Small cottage ideal for 2.

Main bedroom was twin beds. Other bedroom small double bed. Lounge was great but kitchen quite small. Great property for a couple maybe struggle fir 2 couples.

The location is lovely. Local pub Crispin Inn, is fantastic. Good food, atmosphere, drinks and garden.

Key box bit tricky to get into. Smelt musty and sooty.(no-longer a real fire) Rugs on floor slip around unless trapped under furniture, so quite dangerous. Moved the ones in the bedrooms. Central heating pipes rattle very loudly as the system is heating up and cooling down, also while on.(even after being looked at by owner) Everywhere needs freshening up, all looks rather tired and bit tatty. Courtyard not fit for purpose. Stairs could do with some sort of grips on or carpet. Due to bare wood don't just have socks on, could slip. Shower needs repairing, both parts of shower come on at same time. Should be able to select either of the two heads. Side pipe also blows off at time. (A norm for the shower type apparently)

The location was great

The back door was so difficult to unlock. If there was a fire and that door would be a problem, especially for the older generation.

It is in a great village

The property requires urgent TLC. There is a terrible smell of damp/must that never went even with the windows open which affected my chest and throat. Things need replacing such as the kitchen bin and microwave, it needs a real deep clean
