Boreland Loch Tay

Nobody there when we arrived at book in time of 4pm. No direction to our lodge. Finally found which was ours as right size, lights on, unlocked. Can of exploded iron bru in freezer, freezer doors broken. Everyone unpacked and started cooking dinner when we got message that we should have been in another lodge. Reception staff had been at a meeting and had missed check in time. They were happy for us to stay where we were, and we were happy not to pack up and leave.

When we arrived, there was no direction, no welcome, and pin for key lock only came in after we had made ourselves comfortable in lodge

It was warm when we arrived, the main room and the kitchen was big enough to accommodate 4 adults and 3 Children.

It was quite spartiate, especially the bathrooms and the rooms. It all roughly made.

All in all we had a great experience staying at Boreland. The location is just perfect and the accommodation was very spacious and had all the basic essentials one would need. The kids loved the hot tub.

On arrival the property was completely unlocked which was strange and we were initially uncertain as to whether that was the exact property we had rented. Also the cabin did not seem like it was fully cleaned since the departure of the previous guests. There was a distinct smell of wet dog (which I wouldn't typically mind as we also have a dog) but the carpets and outside decking were covered in dog hair which was rather unpleasant especially with small kids rolling around in it. However it wouldn't put as off staying there again.

We had a girls’ weekend away here in November and it was fantastic. What really made the stay extra special was the wonderful Ellie who works there and looked after us all. We had some teething issues on the Friday but Ellie came round and sorted everything out for us. We were snowed in on the Saturday and before we could even make plans on what to do, Ellie messaged us asking if we were okay and if we needed anything. We really felt she went above and beyond her duties to assist us and make our stay special.

Would have preferred our own freezer however a communal one was offered and as it was snowing we just kept everything outside anyway.
