Fernando is an extremely gracious and thoughtful host who went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied.

That I had to leave 🙂

Fantastic accommodation with a great host. Fernando was excellent!! We had a super steam room and massage if you wanted. Fernando’s wife cooked us a lovely meal and the breakfast was excellent!

Location is beautiful. House itself is charming and quaint. Bathrooms are shared but very nice and clean. Beds are comfortable. Dinner was home cooked and nice. Wine is extra charge.

Be aware the host is very attentive, for us too much. He is a strong presence which some will be ok with, others not. Ask what you will be charged for. We were charged per tea bag used, but also offered free bottled water. It's a lovely house in a beautiful place, but it was not relaxing.

The accomodation itself was clean and comfortable located on lovely grounds.

The mannerisms of the host was quite off putting. I found him quite intense and directive. I received numerous calls in the weeks before the stay (my number must have been given via booking.com). I do not understand why a guesthouse would call you repeatedly. I also felt there was not much choice in the breakfast time or the breakfast time, being informed how to leave/exit the gated property and whether or not you wished to have dinner. Was charged a hefty 26euro for soup , fish pie and ice cream the next day. The host appeared to be present a good proportion of the time spent in the guesthouses when often walkers just wish to be left to their own devices to rest up. All of this was very different to my previous experiences in guesthouses on the Camino in Portugal and quite off-putting. I probably wouldn't recommend this place for these reasons.

the property is beautiful.

we are both allergic to mold and the house was kept closed up so we struggled with this. ask what charges are before you agree to dinner, wine or laundry service. our most expensive dinner on the Camino was here and it’s out of town so you don’t have options. when we were checking out we found out that no credit cards are accepted for the room or incidentals such as dinner and laundry service, so owner had to drive us to town to ATM to get cash.
