Amrapali-House of Grace

Reading some of the negative reviews I can understand that this place doesn’t lend itself to big, loud friend groups. The vibe is a quiet, private holiday at an exclusive boutique location. The staff are discreetly present, hospitable but also relaxed and not overly formal. The pool is clean and inviting, while soft flute music plays for ambience. Drinking water is provided in glass bottles. The rooms are spacious, with large, comfortable bathrooms and lots of heritage aesthetic appeal. The entire space looks better than in the photographs and we were happy to spend a couple of days just swimming in the pool and having meals by the poolside. The food at the hotel is simple and tasty, not classically rich and heavy Indian food. Everything tastes unprocessed with identifiable ingredients, lending an almost Ayurvedic retreat feel overall. The dogs are loving and friendly once you get to know them, we loved having them around.

The location is beautiful but requires a taxi to go to Panjim or any of the beaches and activities close by. The taxi organised by the hotel was a rip-off and they didn’t negotiate on our behalf over a misunderstanding about the price and service provided. Recommend finding your own taxi service, as every other alternative we found was cheaper.

Nicely located right on the riverbank. The house is beautiful, super stylish, furnished with an attention to detail. Rooms are very spacious, luxory, and pretty unique in decor. Amrapali makes you think deep of the rich history of Goa. House is meticulously clean. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, elegantly served. Level of service is top notch.

So relaxing, superb rooms all located a couple of steps from the pool. Excellent service and wonderful food- all cooked fresh to order.

Need taxis if venturing from the hotel, but not a problem, the hotel can arrange for you and they are reasonable prices.

Beautiful boutique hotel, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff was very nice and looked after us us. Breakfast served by the pool was great.

Unfortunately we didn’t find any restaurants or bars walking distance from the property. We find it a bit challenging to find and book a taxi to go to Panjim and returning to the property in the evening. Waiting time was extremely long and fare considerably higher than in other parts of India.

Incredibly beautiful place with an amazing staff, pool and rooms.

The property is absolutely beautiful! You get struck by the beauty of this heritage hotel when you enter. We stayed in Devotion for 2 nights and Compassion for 2 nights. The room and bathroom was extremely spacious! The 3 dogs initially scared me but I warmed up to them very quickly. The half-board breakfast and lunch/dinner was delicious and healthy. Unique property.

Location is a bit far from the Panjim city (15 mins drive). So arrange a private car/vehicle as tourist taxi rates in Goa are very high!

Beautiful rooms, very tranquil and excellent hospitality. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable.
