Silo Cottage

The location was picturesque. Beautiful landscape, with hills and mountains that you can’t get enough of. We lit a Boma and had a Braai on our last night and just sat and enjoyed the scenery till it was dark, and by dark I mean pitch black which meant the night sky was just as glorious to look at. There was a power outage in the area due to heavy snowfall 2 days prior to our visit but the gas stove and fireplace came in handy. We actually did not mind the lack of electricity or Network and the electricity was restored 1 day after we arrived 🙃. There is a TV but no one bothered to turn it on and we had 3 teenagers with us! In the end no one wanted to leave 😢. Next time, we’ll stay longer.

It was one of the most beautiful landscapes and establishments I've ever stayed at. Absolute serenity.

Quietness, Farm experience, most fantastic Varanda just to sit and recharge your batteries and the fireplace at night indoors and outdoors.

In the silo side of the home there was a lot of flies - not sure if that is only during winter as the silo is much warmer.

Hostess Jane was very accommodating. Any issues we had were sorted straight away. Lovely area to walk, go fishing, feed the horses and good braai possibilities.

The smallest room at the end of the lounge was small and lacked hanging space.

Tranquil surroundings and beautiful views from the verandah. Easy access to the river for a nature walk and some fly fishing.
