Minshuku Satomachi

Lovely host and the room I slept in was very clean, and the tatami and futons were comfortable. Beautiful location, there isn't much around but that was the reason I chose it. I would absolutely recommend it!

While the room itself was very clean, the bathroom could've been a little cleaner. Otherwise everything was fantastic.

The landlady was very nice and cute, very patient, and she really helped me with my plans and needs. It was also very close to jomon sugi and yakusugi-land. Also well equipped kitchen.

You basically get to stay in someone's house, very cute and helpful owners! Anbo is good for getting food and doing some hiking. No fuss parking.

Zero sound isolation and all that. It's really nothing more than a place to sleep and have a shower (but only between 4 and 10pm) Beds weren't all that comfortable. Cash only (as expected).

Clean and average location.

A/c on minimum temperature barely cooling out the room. It’s not enough for sleeping. Neighbors (Japanese) behind the door was very noisy all night. Staff didn’t do anything to make it quieter.

The place is a bit dated We need to sleep on the floor, not even a futon, it was rock hard the floor

I really enjoyed staying at Satomachi. It's geared up for hikers so don't expect luxury, but it has everything you need including a fully equipped kitchen. As noted in other reviews, the landlady is incredibly nice and attentive. It's right by the river and 5 min walk from the nearest bus stop. The place also seems to be a bit of a local institution. Everyone in town knew it.
