Drakensberg Mountain Retreat

Very nice location with some hikes around the property, lovely views, good food, very comfortable beds!

Breakfast was a bit late if you want to go on a hike, quite a long dirt road to get to the property

The location was superb, incredible views of the Drakensberg mountains. Paul and Patricia were very welcoming and made sure we were well informed about the area and introduced us to the estate horses, even provided carrots. A delight. Evening meal and breakfast were simple but well prepared and delicious. Overall the location and experience there was not to be missed.

Outside furniture and showers could have been better.

I absolutely loved my stay at the lodge! It’s the perfect hideaway, offering a perfect blend of peace and entertainment. The location is ideal, with stunning views and beautiful hiking trails right on the property. The setup and decor of the entire lodge are charming and thoughtfully designed, making it feel like a home away from home. The food was delicious, and the hospitality from Patricia, Paul, and the entire staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and well taken care of. It was truly a rejuvenating experience, and I can’t wait to return.

The road leading to the property, that 12 km gravel road its even worse when you inside the electric gate leading to the reception. Owners must try and fix the inside road

The fact that the owners and staff are so welcoming and friendly

When you going inside the property from the first gate.the gravel roads leading to the main resort should be fixed and easy to drive in. Now it has pot holes not well maintained. The parking bays should be paved or concreted as when it’s raining there’s mud.

The location was amazing, the splendor of the Drakensberg Mountains was in full display. The quietness and the surroundings were superb. It was a true retreat

The food could do with some improvement. The first night was particularly awful. The menu selection was very limited and some of the items were poorly prepared. One expected the dinner to come with drinks, (juices or water), but none were on offer.
