Very well kept property with fabulous grounds.

Nestled in a beautiful quiet rural location on the edge of town the grounds were magically dotted with late spring blooms and what we could imagine as fairy glens Close enough to be within walking distance of a great pub and a lovely neighbourhood

Nice big room. Clean & Comfortable. Obviously paid for the big room as late notice on Bank Holiday

I think they are missing an opportunity to showcase Yorkshire Produce. Coffee in the room, typical hotel instant. Why not local coffee? Breakfast bits from a cash and carry. Get Local butter, homemade granola? Local Yoghurts and Milk. Quality sourdough bread. These are what I'd expect from a country manor house hotel. Still nice though :)

The whole experience was wonderful, relaxing and homely . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We enjoyed afternoon tea in the conservatory too which was delightful also watched a deer spring across the gardens

Whilst it's known for its fine dining maybe offer light afternoon snacks as not everyone likes to eat a large meal after 7. We went for rest and relaxation and that's exactly what we got thankyou

We were two friends having a trip away. I had booked two rooms with one person in each room. When we checked in the receptionist thought we were three people with two in one room and one in the other room. I looked at my booking and it was definitely as expected. A few weeks before our stay I had telephoned to reserve a table for dinner on our first night. When we checked in the receptionist asked if we would like a table for dinner, the reservation I had requested had not been made. The bathroom were very stylish, however my bathroom did not have a shelf or similar to put my toilet bag etc on. The rooms were comfortable, however there were no mirrors over the dressing tables and although hairdryers are provided, no thought had been given to how to plug these in near a mirror. Unfortunately I lost an earring during my stay. I used the messaging facility on Booking.com to contact the hotel asking if their housekeeping staff had found it. No response. My friend's bedroom door was very difficult to lock. It had to be locked with the key but the lock was not operating correctly. These are all small things but added together leaves a feeling that customer care and basic needs are being overlooked.

Please be aware that there is no lift (elevator). There was no refrigerator in the room.

There was nothing I didn’t like. If I was being really picky a bottle of water in the room On arrival would be nice and possibly a better class of toiletries.
