The Wrea Head Hall Country House Hotel & Restaurant

Just returned from another brilliant weekend at this stunning hotel. Excellent friendly very polite staff, beautifully prepared food, outstanding location and views. I really can't recommend this hotel enough. A very easy 5 Stars

Stayed in the Ellis suite from arrival and the lovely receptionist showing us to our room. The hotel is spotless food amazing what a great chef. We loved all the staff they were friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to staying again soon

Amazing from arrival to departure for a surprise 60th get together with friends. It didn’t disappoint! I spent ages looking for the perfect hotel for 13 of us to enjoy a night away to surprise my partner. I choose this hotel above many in Yorkshire as you can choose every room to fit your needs, rather than get a generic double room that is pot luck on arrival. Every member of the party loved the room as it was tailored for their needs (ie ground floor, or walk in shower as can’t get in a bath, or an amazing view) - and every room was to an excellent high standard. You get what it shows in the photo, not like any hotels where you arrive and things are tired compared to what you saw on the website……this was exactly what the website showed you- if not better!!! There was everything you needed in the room and more with lots of extra touches like hot chocolate, cookies, dressing gowns, iron and board, and umbrellas for the short walk from the carriage house in case it is raining. The bedding, towels, toiletries are all very high quality and the beds are very comfortable. I booked 7 rooms for dinner, bed and breakfast and we had the library as private dining which was good for us, and also for other guests who wouldn’t want to be having a quiet romantic meal with a table of 13 next to them (not that we are loud, but a large table produced noise!). Breakfast was also set up for us the next morning in the library too. The grounds are amazing, but our weather wasn’t kind enough to allow us a walk around, but we would have loved to as it looks stunning. No one could fault any food- it was all delicious and beautifully presented, and breakfasts cooked to order including lots of speciality dishes was a delight. The staff were wonderful, so helpful - and a big shout out to Laura who worked with me for 11 months in planning what was a stunning surprise 60th birthday get together. It is amazing- you won’t be disappointed- you will be thrilled!!!!

Fantastic as always. Just come back from another visit to this fabulous hotel. Staff are lovely, shout out to the housekeeping team who present spotless rooms. The waiting staff who make the dining experience a pleasure. The chefs are first class, particularly as I have food intolerances and they bent over backwards to accommodate me. Suggesting and providing changes to the menu so I could have the same lovely food as everyone else (and that is a rare occurrence). Big thanks to Josh who co-ordinated it all and had great knowledge of all things 'Wrea Head '. Thanks to all the team and those behind the scenes, gardening and maintenance who keep all the r est running. This is a hotel who knows how to do it well and keeps us returning!

The breakfast was excellent. We would of liked more choice in the main menu.

The mattress was very uncomfortable.
