St. Anna's House

Although I would love to give this property a better rating because the owners were super nice, I simply cannot. There is nothing premium about these rooms. They are very basic/economy. The listing was difficult to navigate, so we thought we were renting an entire house and ended up with a room the size of a cruise ship cabin. There were instructions on the wall prohibiting leaving the AC on when we were away. When we returned from hiking all day (in July heat) we walked into a really hot room that would take a while to cool off. There were constantly dead roaches we had to clean up (best we could because there was no broom). We also dealt with a dead scorpion as well as other critters. While we are thankful they were dead, it was unsettling that there were so many of them. We stayed three days and were given 2 towels, 2 micro-fiber wash cloths, and 2 micro-fiber hand towels. We weren't given any bath mats for the bathroom and so the floor would get soaked trying to get dried off after a shower. We weren't given any instructions on how to discard of our trash, but listing states if we don't self-clean at checkout, we will be charged a cleaning fee. We looked around outside and couldn't locate where to discard our trash, so we didn't have a choice but to leave it there. With the room being so tiny, it would have been nice to have had at least a chair for sitting, some wall hooks to hang bags, etc... On our last day there we had to deal with sewage backing up into the shower..

Sunrise on the hills in the morning, the quiet,the closeness to Lifegiving Spring and also the parks. Easy parking. A/C. Comfortable bed. Easy self-check-in.

Signage was a little confusing, trying to find our cabin. My husband said the shower was a little random about warm water.

Comfortable, big room, great price

Location is the best without a doubt. Everything else is just OK... Don't expect much, just enjoy the "rural" experience

The room smelled like tobacco... There were cigarret butts down the sink.

Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water. Shower was good. Quiet location with outside seating, good access to King's canyon about 30 minutes.would use again.

Air conditioning so noisy you could not use at night, Entrance is through bathroom. Stairs into accommodation rickety.

We did not stay in the room at all because there was strong smell of mold. We are allergic and could not stay. Called to the Anna who promise to refund the payment but so far they have not done that.

Smell and mold. Not possible to stay in there.

Nice place to relax. Room was comfy and nice garden in the front.

Driveway is super bumpy. No sink in bathroom.

Room was beautiful and had all basic utilites with private bathroom.

The road leading to the hotel was unpaved. The air conditioner’s temperature could not be regulated, and it was making a lot of noise. The remote control for the AC had its batteries removed. Insects and bugs would enter the room whenever we opened the main door. It was also very difficult to control the temperature of the shower—selecting "hot" made it too hot, and "cold" made it too cold. YouTube was not accessible on the TV, and Chromecast was not allowed.

Excellent location for visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP. The host was attentive, the room was perfect with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and place settings for 2. I just hope the toilet paper was chosen for the septic system and not because they wanted that brand. I am glad I arrived in the daylight, the short dirt road in would be tricky in the dark the first time. Dining recommendations were spot on - good food, very friendly service, and close by. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
