The location and view are exceptional. A very comfortable cozy little place that made us feel we had gone back in time. We wanted to stay longer! The visit to the castle (within walking distance) was delightful! We highly recommend this accommodation and would book here again!

It was a bit of a challenge to find.

Very good location just a short walk from the castle (and from Dom Sancho restaurant inside the walls, which was terrific). House was nice and quiet, impeccably clean, breakfast was excellent.

A little gloomy inside, with all the bare stone (some whitewash would do wonders, in my opinion).

The stone cottage has two bedrooms but the living room, satisfactory for two, would have been cramped for four. The place was clean, bedroom comfortable and well equipped for cooking. Breakfast was available a few steps away in the hostess’ house. Freshly prepared with good home made cakes and jam.

After 20 minutes and a phone call our hostess arrived to open up and turn on the heating. Given the weather it was a pity that she had not done this in the morning as the house remained cold all evening. There was no ‘starter’ food available such as tea, coffee or milk

Very good over all but during winter need a little heater in the bedroom.

Great host Very clean and quiet Close to Sortelha Castle (walking distance)

A little cool in the night (3rd week of November), even with heater running at maximum temperature. No kettle.

Wonderful host - a very friendly, always smiling elderly lady, who spoke perfect French and surprisingly understood my "franc-spanol";-) We got a whole small house with a spaceous living room, fully equipped kitchen and 2 bedrooms. Everything was just perfect and impecably clean. Very good location, small walk to the castle, parking at the door of the lady's house. Home made breakfast was made of quality products. The best coffee we had in Portugal!

Breakfast included only cold options: bread, ham, delicious cheese, jam, some cakes and fruits. We lacked some vegetables (at least some tomatoes and cucumbers).
