Hygiene standards, very poor, dirty toilet seat, dirty kettle and bin , nylon sheets went out years ago, bathrobes hanging up on door were grey not white just like the towels, the shower and toilet were outside of the sleeping room. We did not stay at this hotel, booked into another not far away which was fabulous.

It is in a good location with a great view of the Harbour. We like simple accommodations, which this was, but we also want it to be clean. Which it was not.

The room is in great need of cleaning. It did not appear the bathroom had been cleaned for several stays as there was filth and pubic hairs all around the toilet, a build up of grime on the toilet seat lid and toilet tank lid. The baseboards had a thick coat of dust and dirt. We found dirty food container behind the side table and the food covered container lid between the mattress and side table. The mattress is in dire need of replacement.

Prompt response from the owner when the TV wasn't working - came round within a few minutes! Also gave sound advice about ferry crossings which saved us from losing a day on Islay.

The private bathroom not being en-suite was a minor inconvenience
