The food was wonderful, the hostess was wonderful, the room was excellent, nothing to fault at all.

The location does mean there is just one takeaway to eat at in the village (which was fine), otherwise plan to eat elsewhere e.g. in Melrose which is a drive away. Its just worth knowing this for the first evening perhaps particularly.

A lovely family run bed and breakfast. We were welcomed immediately upon arrival and provided with information about breakfast etc. The people are delightful and nothing is too much trouble. The fresh milk for the hospitality tray in the bedroom is a nice detail and much more welcome than those plastic little pots found usually in hotels. The facilities are very clean. I personally appreciate well laundered, fluffy white towels when I stay somewhere and that was another box ticked. The breakfast was well cooked with eggs sourced locally. It was plentiful and we could’ve had more toast and tea if we wished. We anticipated being out late but this was not a problem as a key to the front door was provided. The hosts were a mine of local information, inspiring us to return to the area to explore more. Whilst we may not return to Broomfield House again, this is because we usually use our motorhome when holidaying but we would not hesitate to recommend Broomfield House to anyone who would appreciate what this family run business has to offer.
