The whole visit was exceptionally brilliant from start to finish .. the hosts are absolutely fantastic and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Recommend to everyone.

Nothing to dislike at all.

The whole of our stay at The Gables was perfect. Angus and Claire were the perfect hosts and could not do enough to ensure our stay met our expectations from the beautiful bedroom with ensuite, to the historic sights of the surrounding area, the best places to eat and where to park on Holy Island. Their local knowledge was outstanding. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and greeted with warm smiles and a tray of tea. Breakfast was made to the time we requested and not the standard set hours. The room was perfect and very large. The bed was so comfy and furnishings beautiful. The ensuite was as large as any main bathroom containing both a bath and separate shower. The surrounding area was so peaceful and charming little villages dotted around. Thank you to Claire and Angus for making our stay an experience we will never forget. If up that way again we will be sure to book again.

There was nothing at all we did not like. All was perfect.

Amazing facilities and excellent location as we were travelling to Edinburgh from London and looking to stop over outside the hustle and bustle of a large city and big hotels . The gable was perfect and had that personal touch .

A wonderful stopover on our journey. A beautifully restored, authentic property. Superb location. Property owner was extremely helpful. Pot of tea on arrival was very much appreciated. Breakfast was lovely and a great start to the day. It went beyond our expectations. Would definitely visit again.

This is a beautiful house and a great place to stay. In a quiet location yet very central for most things. The host is excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable about the locale. Thoroughly recommend to all.
