Loch Arklet House

It was a very cosy place, we loved it! Very clean and you will have everything you need. The landscape around is stunning. If you walk the West Highland Way, it is a short walk to go there, but it was totally fine :) The breakfast was also very good and we had a good chat with the hosts :) We totally recommend it!

The location overlooking the loch is nice. Phyllis and her husband (?) were very friendly and we had a nice chat in the morning about our day ahead. They both thanked us for staying with them which was nice. Our beds were comfortable and bed linen was fresh & clean.

We stayed in the attic room which was at the top of quite a tight spiral staircase. The room itself was fine but had too much furniture and could be improved if some items were removed. We had trouble making the TV work.

Very friendly and nice hosts. Old house with charm and very quiet location. Great breakfast and individual wishes are welcome. Just a few minutes walking distance to the bunkhouse for dinner.

The strength of the stream of water in bathroom

The breakfast was lovely, you could have anything you want, we really enjoyed the owners, and the peace of this place! It was clean and the beds were super comfy.

An option to check in a bit later / be able to get someone on the phone as we were worried we weren't going to make it by 7pm on our walk!

The couple running Loch Arklett were lovely and seemed very organised and helpful

There were cobwebs around the room and bathroom, water from taps untreated, very low water pressure so difficult to shower, our room was difficult to get round/access kettle etc because of low eaves. Breakfast was efficient but not very well cooked (dry eggs, standard sliced bread, packet potato cakes), some local produce (butter, honey, yogurt) might be nice?)

Als ik iets moet kiezen, was het ontbijt wel oke.

Pas op het is 40min bergop van de west highland way!!! Daarnaast werden we heel onvriendelijk ontvangen. Er was 1 gedeelde badkamer voor een heel verdiep, de kamer was heel ouderwets met een super zware dons en oncomfortabel bed. Dit was helemaal zijn geld niet waard en buitengewoon duur.

Loch Arklet House ist wunderschön etwas abseits des West Highland Ways (ca. 20 min) gelegen. Schon allein der Fußweg dorthin ist malerisch und der Ausblick aus unserem Zimmer war es ebenfalls. Das Gastgeberehepaar ist sehr herzlich und optimal auf die Bedürfnisse von Wandernden eingestellt. Als wir ankamen, empfing uns ein sehr gemütliches, warmes Zimmer mit vier großen Flaschen mit gefiltertem Wasser, um unsere Vorräte aufzufüllen. Darüber hinaus gab es am nächsten Morgen ein frisch zubereitetes und sehr leckeres typisches schottisches Frühstück, welches auch in der vegetarischen Variante verfügbar war. Wir können nur allen Wandernden auf dem West Highland Way empfehlen, diesen kleinen Umweg in Kauf zu nehmen!
