What wasn't there to love? The most enormous room, comfortably furnished. Such a comfortable bed it was a real struggle to get up in the morning. Everything was spotless. Breakfast was probably the best I have had anywhere. Beautiful, peaceful setting. I can't wait to go back

What didn't I like? Having to go home.

The grounds are lovely but the hotel is filthy and clearly not on a regular maintenance or cleaning schedule. Breakfast was cold and underwhelming. Facilities are unsafe especially for children.

We stayed in February and there was no heating or wifi. We reported this to the owner who informed us that both had broken and recommended that we depart the hotel with a full refund, but we had to claim through booking.com. Reading many reviews after it is clear since 2015 that the owners have had numerous complaints about not putting heating on and then turn off wifi so people can’t get any more information. Booking.com will then not do anything to facilitate the refund until the hotel writes to confirm and actually pays them back the money. I spent at least 10 hours on the phone to booking and basically this is the con. If you complain at the hotel they ask you to leave and then never provide booking.com with the confirmation of refund. So you are basically stuck in a loop where you have no holiday and no money. Took 2 months and threat of legal action to finally get the refund.

A truly memorable stay in a quirky but extremely comfortable and enjoyable bed and breakfast venue. The room was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The breakfast which you pre-order was hearty and delicious. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

This is such a unique and unusual building it is such a shame that the carpark is immediately out the front of the accommodation. I am sure there are reasons for this but if cars were parked slightly away from the building the look and feel would be even better.
