Lovely location, very quiet, very rural. Beautiful old building, lovely room, bed very comfortable. Everything you could possibly need for a short stay. Breakfast, fantastic

Better signage needed at the turning on main road. there is a sign there but hard to see from the road. but that's all

Location, history, style, breakfast , host

When we arrived, admittedly it was a cold day, but our room was freezing ! Heating even after it came on (been off until 4pm when we arrived, not on all day, which you would expect if guests present or due.) Despite an extra storage heater and being unable to obtain extra blankets, we had to go to Beccles Tescos to buy a blanket and slept in our clothes. Email sent to owner, but no reply. Next day, spoke to our host, Fiona, who was superb and sympathetic. Thankfully next day was slightly warmer outside and room warmer and with the extra heat/blanket, we managed to sleep, until the daily loud immersion woke us up at 7am !. Basically, the Southwold room has high ceilings and should not be used in Winter. I recently had a heart attack so didn’t need the stress and cold. My wife’s birthday weekend and this put the dampers on the weekend

The host was very friendly and welcoming and gave lots of information about the local area. The room was clean, very comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was great and it was nice to have a lounge and bar. Also very good value for money. Many thanks

"Peaceful retreat"

Great location, huge room with great character. Really loved the room perfect to come back and relax in after a day exploring. Very comfy bed. Nice quite location close to coast and Southwold. Would definitely stay again.

Would have preferred a shower rather than bathtub but that's just a personal preference.

Breakfast was lovely, and the rooms are very spacious. The double bed was very comfy.

Quite a few flies on the brickwork in the front room/ bedroom.
