The friendly welcome and intersting conversation; very comfortable double bed with bedside lamps and bedside cabinets on both sides; spacious en suite, with bath and shower; good Wi-Fi; ability to let myself in and out at any time with keys; table and two chairs to eat and drink at, or to sit and relax, read or watch TV; good TV; plenty of sockets for charging purposes; tea, coffee making facilities with fresh milk supplied; little snack bars/biscuits provided and an assortment of sweets; excellent cooked breakfast and/or cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, marmalade/jam; some little cakes to take away when checking out.

Nothing I didn't like. A rather larger fridge would be useful to keep takeaway food items fresh, like sandwiches, salads and wraps.

Well decorated and appointed. Thoughtful extra touches to make us comfortable, particularly as it was over Christmas.

Only drawback could be the steep steps outside and inside the property.

Breakfast was amazing. Really good quality and cooked fresh in front of you. Great selection from continental, toast, full English, cereals the lot. Could not fault any of the breakfast. Hosts were so welcoming and had thought of every single detail, down to things we had not even considered of such as a pair of ear-plugs, fresh milk and fresh tea-bags (rather than the packaged ones). Bed was comfy and the bathroom, whilst not ensuite, was just across the landing and our own. Really clean and super shower.

Parking is a bit tricky but we actually manged to park around the corner on the main road so only 1 minute walk.

I liked the comfort of the room, the little thoughtful extras, the beautifully modern bathroom, the very extensive breakfast, and the kind hospitality of the hosts Steven & Simon

The breakfasts were lovely, which was more or less inevitable given that out hosts were former chefs! We enjoyed chatting with them (and their charming little dogs!) while we ate, learning a lot about the town and its surroundings. The location is close to the pedestrianised centre of town as well as to the local arts centre, railway station (which holds an interesting local museum) and bus stops - important for us as we were travelling by public transport. A beautiful large clean bathroom, very comfortable bed and spacious quiet bedroom as well as the central location all added up to a nice autumn break.

There is no alternative for it, but the trip across the landing to get to the bathroom may not suit everyone, though it was no problem for us.
