"It was pleasant, convenient, clean and Gareth's swift responses to my queries was a great relief."

8.0

We liked the accommodation and were pleasantly surprised that we had ground floor and then 1st floor bedroom/bathroom - which was not obvious from the booking details. Also that coffee/tea and breakfast basics were included - so we would describe it as an Air BnB booking - which was a relief. Gareth was so helpful and pleasant when we had a query. I would certainly recommend it to others and visit again myself. I am in my 80s so do struggle with technology and did find your booking system rather confusing and managed it in the end but not without some anxiety...but all in all Myself and my friend were very satisfied.

Just your booking system - it did confuse me plus the details did not make it clear that sleeping accommodation was on the 1st floor - but that's a small matter! Also didn't realise until the eve of our departure that there is a Gremlin pub virtually next door - and I used to live nearby and had hardly noticed that - it may have made a difference with regard to us deciding whether or not to go out to eat or just have a pleasant drink in the Gremlin pub!

Location was fantastic

No way to cook even though there were pans and trays provided. Ants on floor. Endless noise from the pub beer garden next door

"Great location, size and price"

How close it was to the parkrun we visited. It was perfect for my friend and I, just the right size and very competitively priced.

There wasn’t much to dislike.

"Beautiful location, ideal set up for local or further afield, dog friendly and self containing."

7.0

This venue offers an excellent location if using Brecon as a base, or for Brecon alone. It is practically on the river and has excellent access to various points of interest. The set up of the cottage is great and everything someone could need for a stay. The upstairs layout was convenient for our party, with a sizeable bathroom. The downstairs offers a useable kitchen, downstairs toilet, kitchen table with TV and sofa. There is good lighting outside the property which was useful as we had two dogs with us needing to use the facilities. *There was also a desk fan in the bedroom which was ideal. *Breakfast was nice though not diabetic friendly. Not a criticism because there is apparently an option to highlight this. I missed it. My guest enjoyed toast, tea and cereals. *Having a fridge is also handy for insulin.

At surface value our stay was what it needed to be. We have specific requirements for beds so were expecting them to be hard. Which they were. Though this is subjective. There were a few things that need attention - hairdryer in the upstairs bathroom. Toilet in the downstairs WC wouldn't flush. Odour from kitchen units. Nail clippings on the bedroom carpet. Futon in the living area is not really a sofa and for guests spending the whole day out walking you need somewhere with a touch more padding for ones extremities. The TV time was not in synch with actual time which was very strange and confusing. Again, we only spent an hour or so watching it but it should be updated. The parking area is used by, please excuse my assumption, pub staff. We were looking to leave the property late at night and manoeuvring was a nightmare.

"Amazing stay in a lovely location"

8.0

The property was lovely and has everything you needed. The breakfast items were a nice idea and Gareth our host was friendly and helpful. Lovely being so near the canal and cycle route. Would stay again

Only negative for us was the pillows on the bed were very flat but that’s it.

"Needs doing up and new beds"

4.0

Great location with parking and has a kitchenette.

Beds were horrendous, it was very tired looking and had cobwebs on light fittings, dog hairs on the sofa rug and the hairdryer was smashed.

"Lovely location, quaint cottage. Pity about the lack of attention to detail."

6.0

The accommodation was in a very desirable area. The cottage was pleasant and safe off road parking.

The living room tv had very limited channels - no bbc or itv. The bedroom tv didn’t work on arrival but the landlord did manage to rectify this. There were ants in the living room when we arrived. The landlord did put some ant powder down, outside the door as a consequence and the cleaner did mop the floor but the ants were still present the next day. We asked for a double bed when requesting the accommodation. We got 2 single beds on arrival. We were going to push them together and move the side tables but noticed the old sweets and dust under the bed that would have been the area we’d be walking on, so we didn’t bother. Lastly, there was no hot water. We told the landlord, he had a go at fixing it, but it didn’t work. All these things add up and when you’re paying a decent amount of money to stay somewhere, it’s a bit irritating spending a fair bit of time trying to sort them out. Especially when they are not rectified.
