Breakfast was good, fridge fully stocked.

The mattresses were not very comfortable, also kitchen utensils were sparse, more sharper knives. Hot water was intermittent, either scalding or cold.

Close to the town centre and canal.

The bed near the window needed a new matress. An uncomfortable sleep. The settee downstairs not comfortable either.

Facilities & location

The mattress was hard, old and springs poked into me. Luckily there was a spare mattress down stairs which I put over the old mattress. The old hair drier is falling apart at the end. It looks so old I wonderIng if its electrically safe ?

Excellent location, very close to town centre and next to canal basin. Ideal breakfast provided. Plenty of space and car parking on-site a real bonus.

Near to town and walks, we could take the dog. The cottage was very well equipped

We had no hot water other than the shower; not a problem really. We would imagine something wasn't switched on but we couldn't locate the controls. Bedroom could do with a lick of paint.

A little tired

Unique little cottage in ideal location. We had the best night sleep ever on a holiday, due to the double glazed, well fitted windows, the firm but comfortable mattress and the not too hot covers for the time of year.I was impressed, how well my special requests (because of various medical conditions) were taken into account! The Manager is living next door and the owners are Professionals. A toilet upstairs and downstairs was very useful! We did not know how the "Free Breakfast" would work on six nights. Now we realise that the items are left in the kitchen on arrival and if more is needed during the stay you can ask for it

Somewhere in the accommodation description a cooker top is mentioned and the user manual is there, but there is only a microwave. The crockery is limited but very clean! However, with a bit of thought we managed, without ready meals or takeaways and had a lovely holiday!
