The Marquis Inn

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely. My room had a king size and a single bed. There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and two armchairs and a coffee table. The modern bathroom had a massive walk in shower with a large shower head. The toilet was very clean. There was plenty of hot water and the heating was on all night, not like some places I've stayed in.

Unfortunately the hand towels were a bit thread bare but clean. There were some stains on the cushions on the beds but the bedding was clean. The sealer around the shower is going mouldy but the shower was clean.

Door was hard to open, we were locked out of room until 3am. No one answered the phone. Couldn’t have a coffee in the morning as cups were filthy

Location was good . Staff were lovely Rooms were clean . Food was well prepared.

Fixtures and linen were tired and need replacing

The room could have been really good if it was just clean . Bathroom was was modern shower good

Well what a let down! As soon as I managed to find the car park. The car park was full of rubbish just looked awful rubbish bags piled up cigarette butts every on the floor. The way to your room is from this car park up a fire escape. The room could have been lovely but was so dusty dirty dust all around the edges of the carpet with toenails by the bed . Cobwebs all over the ceiling. The bedding was poor and when checked was dirty underneath. Mattress was uncomfortable . Looking now at previous reviews all this has been brought up before and obviously not been addressed shame really

The room was dirty - there were LOTS of cobwebs behind the door. Then in the drawers there was something in each drawer that other guests had left behind - meaning a total lack of cleanliness standards! Clearly not been checked. Lots of mould around the shower too. Although the manager offered to clean the room, and swap our guest into another room ( just for one night ) he would then have had to move back into that room for the rest of the week- I think the point had been missed - if that is seen as the general acceptance standard of cleanliness for the room - then what else has not been cleaned properly! We were not happy to let our guest stay there all week - so pulled him out and into another hotel.
