Compass Rose

Despite using booking.com many times before and had some great stays away, I have never taken the effort to leave a review before. However I feel with our experience of this stay it was well deserved. On arrival we were greeted by the owners and lad to the decking overlooking Dartmouth rooftops and Bay and given an overview of Dartmouth and history along with a pot of tea (lovely touch). Our room was coat and very high ended regards fittings etc..nothing was a problem and the hosts were exceptionally accommodating. The room had a balcony with the same view as mentioned before and is stunning. The breakfast was also a highlight and was freshly cooked to order and again sat out on the decking...amazing. We always like to try new places and experiences however I would return back here. I must also re emphasise how warming the the goats were...and finally great value as we only paid £135/ night which I thought was very very good value for money.

Going home

What a beautiful place to stay. ! Ann and Brendan made us so welcome after a long arduous journey. Parked car close by and left it there for three days. Fabulous room, glorious sun terrace where we had delicious continental breakfast one morning surrounded by a lovely garden and great views. Bathroom spacious with every attention to detail to ensure an enjoyable stay. Dining room breakfast equally lovely( have learnt a new way to cook poached eggs !!).

Parking for some might find it difficult? But we walked down to the town every day and took a local bus back up the hill in the afternoon/ evening- so convenient- drops you off at the top of the road the. A short walk downhill to the front door.

The location was ideal for us, a short walk down hill into town. But this may not suit everyone as the hills are quite steep. I did hear that the bus that travels around town does stop at the top of the hill so you could catch this and walk back on a flatter path. The premises were to a very high standard and the owners were always available to answer questions and to be of assistance if required.

For us it was ideal. Nothing to dislike.

The hospitality, excellent breakfast and clean and comfortable room.

Ann and her husband made us feel at home from the moment we walked through the front door.. The breakfasts were excellent and plentiful especially eating them on the terrace.

Beautiful accommodation, immaculately presented and offering exceptional service. The lovely vista was breakfast on the veranda was an added bonus!

We loved the view over Dartmouth while sitting on the balcony. Breakfast was excellent and our hosts were lovely.

We did not mind the walk into Dartmouth center but navigating the steps and steep hillside may be tricky for some folk.

On arrival Ann made us coffee &tea out on the terrace it was very comfortable,We had breakfast on the balcony and the sun was shining the room was spotless and very comfortable fantastic bed very clean.we will return.l

Exceptional help from Brendanwho drove us to the restaurant after the taxi failed to turn up

Everything!! Location is perfect, view from the balcony is incredible, rooms are beautifully presented, breakfast is delicious with lots of options and the hosts are very kind and accommodating.
