Puffin Cottage

Lovely B&B close to John O'Groats and the ferry to the Orkneys. The B&B is located in and old farmhouse. There are 2 large bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Breakfast is served in the downstairs breakfast room, plenty to choose from. The petting zoo is an added bonus for animal lovers. Loved the 2 donkeys and the pub close by

This would be a really great stay for a family with young children, who could then book both rooms, wouldn’t mind the shared bathroom and no doubt would really enjoy the animals. The owner was welcoming (however, we couldn’t find her the next morning).

Only the twin room was available when we booked, my husband is just shy of 6’ and the bed was not long enough & very squeaky. We didn’t like feeling obliged to buy something from the shop as soon as we turned up. This is the owners home, so fair enough, but there were 3 large piles of dog mess on the dark coloured gravel path, we just missed it on our way out to dinner, the following morning it was still there. Breakfast was refined carbs, not for us.

Cara is a lovely host, very friendly and generous. Lovely cosy room with plenty of space and great views of John O'Groats...weather permitting! 😀 and a lovely breakfast with bread 🍞 fresh out of the oven. Highly recommend staying here.

Die Lage und Ausstattung sind sehr gut.

Good location. Room immaculate with lovely decor. Locally made hand wash. Cara was very welcoming and very good host. Wonderful to stay on a farm and see the animals - and feed and pet them. The other staff were friendly and chatty.
