The Harbour Masters House

Darren was such a great host, what a lovely guy! We arrived quite late, Darren made loads of effort to make sure we got fed, had great recommendations for places to go etc and made us feel genuinely welcome. We were staying for a wedding and Darren made our prep seamless. The room was great with a lovely view of the harbour, very comfortable bed too. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely come back.

The best breakfast we had in our two week tour of Ireland (which included a number of 4 star hotels). Shannon Harbour is a small village, and a welcome oasis compared to some of the larger places which we visited. A more authentic feel, especially in the local bar, Killeens, on Friday night.

The style, the friendly welcome, the advice on where to go locally and the knowledge of local history were all excellent.

Perfectly situated for travellers on the Grand Canal, it is also historically interesting, and has a gorgeously rendered modern garden. Breakfast was generous and delicious; hosts helpful with local information and traveller pragmatics.
