Calcutta Bungalow

The facilities are funky lovely. I was in Kolkata for Durga Puja and the location was reasonably good for getting around on foot - important due to the traffic. The food was excellent, which was great since there aren’t many options nearby. They allowed me to order a half thali, which was still a huge amount of food and delicious.

A bit of a walk to the metro and the restaurant was booked with no guests for the holiday, so I had to eat in my room.

Calcutta Bungalow was absolutely wonderful. The staff is kind and very helpful. I had two rooms during my stay and LOVED both. Wonderful design touches. The location is not for everyone but I loved being in an actual non tourist neighborhood. I would return.

The one thing that needs work is the food and restaurant. It is not up to par with the rest of the hotel. Since the hotel is far from alternate places to eat , they need to work on the menu and or chef.

The wedding taking place in a neighbouring house was a noisy and kept us awake till late.

Very stylish and artsy decor, beautiful architecture. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is amazing!

We arrived at around 3pm. And even though the check in time is 2pm, we had to sit and wait for almost an hour before we could get into our room, because they were still cleaning it. The hotel is in an old building. Our hotel room floor was not clean, so our feet became brown every time we walk around barefoot in the room. There was a strong cleaning chemical smell in the room. The room is a bit stuffy so we had a to open all windows and doors for 15 minutes to air it out every time we come back to the room.
