"Truly stunning historic boutique hotel"

Absolutely stunning place, I hope we get to stay again. Id happily live there. They faciiltated 3am check in. Let us have lare check out. Served breakfast on the terrace way after breakfast hour finished and one of their staff went and bought me an Indian mobile Sim so i didnt have to queue to get a foreigner Sim. In a great location with plenty of cafes and shops and stalls on your doorstep.

That i couldnt live there.

"Sehr gutes 2-Stern-Hotel - allerdings mit ein paar Unzulänglichkeiten"

Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Sofortiger Zimmerbezug schon bei Ankunft um 11 Uhr. Sehr schöne Dachterrasse mit Restaurant. Sehr gutes Essen im indischen Style. Auch von Einheimischen sehr geschätzt, die nicht im Hotel wohnen.

Freundliches, aber unzuverlässiges Personal im Restaurant und je nach Besetzung auch an der Rezeption. Offizieller Frühstücksbeginn ist um 07.00, Personal schlurft aber jeden Tag immer erst um 07.15 h an. Zeitweise ist auch die Rezeption nicht besetzt für Uber-Bestellung zum Beispiel. Sehr dunkel im Zimmer, weil die Läden immer geschlossen sind (wohl wegen der wenig erfreulichen Aussicht auf die Umgebung). Zu wenig Tische auf der Terrasse, obschon Platz vorhanden wäre.

Breakfast was excellent. The meals in the rooftop restaurant were exceptional. Staff were excellent, they were always willing to help, nothing was too much trouble. Furnishings and finishing touches are very tastefully done.

"A delightful stay in old Calcutta style."

The property is wonderfully designed in old Calcutta vernacular. Very detailed with pleasant surprises in every corner.

I would say the fans on the top level were stuck on high speed and noisy. It was difficult to enjoy the wonderful with sound and the bright lights.

Lovingly restored and tastefully furnished old house in a traditional neighbourhood in Kolkata. They also have an excellent restaurant with great Bengali cuisine. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
