Green Hill Hotel in Ella is the best !! Superb views of Ella Gap and Adams Peak, great food and very friendly staff. It’s such a tranquil, restful place when compared to the hustle and bustle of Central Ella. We highly recommend it👌🏽😎🇱🇰❤️👍🏽

TukTuk prices - far too high

Stunning views, comfortable rooms, easy access to town and very friendly, helpful staff.

Bad value for money. The bed was worn and not supportive anymore. No hot water for showering. Slow and or responsible staff.

Location & mountain views

Poorly maintained property, rooms were dirty and manager was not helpful. Breakfast was not good & bad service Place needs lots of maintenance, cleanliness and better managment. Wonder how Lonley Planet gave them a rating with a Star !!!

We got a room with a balcony that faced Ella Rock. The door/walls to the balcony were glass, so we had the opportunity to wake up and enjoy the sunrise (without needing to climb any mountain in the area). Nice staff, especially a young guy doing his training there. He communicated our needs to the personnel as most of them didn't speak English. He also told us a couple of things about the area. We are grateful for his help during our stay :) We enjoyed bird-watching from our room. So bring binoculars.

The view of the place is amazing. And if we ever return to Ella, we will definitely book the same hotel. However, be aware that taxis might not want to enter the street. It happened to us when coming from Mirissa, and we didn't know the path was quite rough and narrow (space for 1 car only), so the taxi said he would not drive us there, and we had to walk in the rain half the way (200 mtrs.) It was ok for us as it was early, but it can be tricky at night as there is no light in the street. So if you are in a taxi remember to agree on the entrance in advance. Or you can pick a tuck-tuck at the entrance of the street as there is a tuck-tuck station there. Suggestions for improvements: 1. Breakfast was vast and good, but guests should be able to choose what they want to eat, to avoid food waste. On the first day, we weren't told what the breakfast consisted of, so we got all sorts of things at different times, some of which we would not eat for breakfast, and ended up in food waste. The day after we asked for help explaining in English to the kitchen staff what we preferred. 2. Managers should support all employees with free English lessons.

Great view. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They helped us book a tuktuk for a day tour. Breakfast was included and served as set menu. It was a good selection of dishes incl fruit.

It is a little up the hill. So a little hard to convince Tuktuk drivers to take you there. Without luggage, you can walk up as well. The hotel offers transfer if you contact them in advance.
