Brae Lea House, Lochboisdale, South Uist. Outer Hebrides

Everything about my stay here was homely and pleasant. Place had all that one might need, my room had a cozy, comfy, almost Scandinavian vibe to it, excellent breakfast, Rupert is a friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable host. Would recommend and will return if I revisit the area! 🙂 A great, handy base for exploring the Uists and Benbecula/Eriskay/Barra.

One of our two rooms we had the bathroom was very small and the shower not very friendly.

Breakfast was exceptional. Very comfortable.

The breakfast was fantastic, we had the full breakfast plus toast all the jams & marmalade you could ask for, great coffee ( even in the room) Also Rupert has a great sense of humour, very funny guy. Comfy warm room, fluffy towels, comfy bed

Callum was very helpful when we needed anything. The setting was in a part of the Western Isles that we hadn't explored.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt in Ruperts Haus. Sodass wir, obwohl unser Urlaub gerade erst begonnen hat, ruck zuck erholt waren. Rupert ist äußerst gastfreundlich und gibt gute Tipps. Er servierte uns leckeres Rührei auf Brot mit lokalem geräuchertem Lachs oder auf Wunsch Porridge (die Schotten essen dies wohl mit etwas Salz statt Zucker) zum Frühstück. Die Ausstattung war sehr geschmackvoll und hochwertig, von den sehr schönen Tassen angefangen, dem bequemen Bett bis zu den hübschen Bildern lokaler Künstler. Die kleine Bibliothek machte Lust es sich im Gemeinschaftsraum gemütlich zu machen und zu schmökern. Leider ist uns dies nur kaum gelungen, weil wir lange draußen unterwegs waren. Falls wir wieder einmal auf die äußeren Hebriden reisen, werden wir unbedingt wieder bei Rupert übernachten wollen.

Rupert was an excellent host. Very informative, telling us about things happening on the island. Excellent quality crockery, cutlery and cafetiere also bed linen and pillows. Having electric charging points x 2 was great bonus.

Sealant around shower base needs replaced.
