Dimuthu Home Stay

Stayed in this fantastic homestay for 3 nights and everything was perfect. The location is ideal as the room had amazing views of the mountains and waterfall and was so peaceful yet you can walk into the centre of town in 10 minutes along the railway line. The room is spacious, clean and had all the facilities we needed including a large bathroom. The hosts were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and served each morning on the private terrace. We would definitely recommend staying at this homestay.

Its an amazing place to stay in ella. 10min of walking to the city center and little bit in the dschungel. The hosts were extremely nice and picked me up at the trsi

The breakfast was excellent, also the dinner we asked to prepare for us. The family is very nice. Our kids was playing very nice with host’s kids. They actually made a surprise, they brought the Christmas tree and presents for kids. They offer laundry service and was very useful. The room is very modern and very very clean, in comparison with many other properties we stayed in Sri Lanka. In front of the house is the railway but ther is no problem, the last train passes around 8 pm and the first around 7 am. So during the night is very quite. Is such a great experience to walk on the railway to the small ravana waterfall, which you can see from the property, or to the nine arch bridge. The view from the property is, like all the other reviews says, outstanding. Is was an excellent experience for us.

Views were stunning. The only noise was the sound of nature and the slight noise of the waterfall- absolutely charming. Very friendly,, helpful and polite family. Excellent breakfast. Great size room with veranda and dining table - what a panorama and view to enjoy breakfast or dinner - unbeatable..

Although the location was stunning, and was only 7 minutes from centre of town by tuktuk it was on a fairly steep hill - perhaps not suitable for the infirm.

Exceptional service, fantastic view from the terrace, tasty breakfast and dinner. Owner did all the best to make our stay unforgettable.

15min walk to the main town along the railway line, in the jungle. Trains start at 6;50am which will wake you up with them shaking the building, BUT if you look past that the views and location are outstanding!! Breakfast was great too.

Had an issue with the hotel water and water pressure, but that seems to be a general issue with staying in the mountains. Apart from that, all very good.

This place had the most amazing view! It was spacious, light and clean, with a big terrace overlooking the Little Ravana Waterfall. Once we arrived we wanted to just stay there our entire stay and enjoy the views. Breakfast was great and varying every day. The family who owns the place was nice and helpful. They also prepared a delicious curry for dinner on one of our nights. The center of Ella with all restaurants is just 10 min away following the traintracks (everyone uses this way) and is actually a nice and calm walk. There were mosquito nets for both our bed and our baby’s cot. Perhaps our best stay in Sri Lanka. :)

Laundry service was a bit pricey, but everything else was just great!

- stunning view from terrace, you sit amidst the greens but with a panoramic view of the waterfalls and valley - easy 10 min walk to the village along the train tracks (rare for the view) - lovely owners - amazing and diverse breakfast

- For two nights, we had to take cold showers. Apparently, warm water depends on sunshine or other weather factors. Therefore, warm water is rather an on top benefit than a guarantee here. - Wifi works sometimes and rather slowly - Windows don't close completely, there are open spaces and no nets. Hence, insects can come in and we had small frogs in our bathroom twice. But there is a mosquito net over the bed!

Nice big room with hot shower,kettle & hairdryer Lovely spread for breakfast and a great view of the waterfall nice friendly hosts. 10 minute good walk along the train tracks into ella for numerous bars and restaraunts need a torch

Is a bit far from centre of town but numerous tuk tuks if ypur not up to the walk room felt a bit damp and cold but we did have 2 solid days of rain and it rains s lot here so be prepared
