Dimuthu Home Stay

The cleanest stay we had in Sri Lanka. The place was spotless and well thought out with items that are needed to make the stay feel like home such as a fridge and hair dryer. Not far out of Ella but far enough away to be able to fully enjoy the stunning area and away from the dusty busy main strip. The hosts were very polite, extremely helpful and provided a beautiful breakfast each morning which we could enjoy with the stunning view, sound of the water fall and train passing by. Highly recommend this home stay.

If I had to made a suggestion I would say for the host to add a phone number to the listing, as we had trouble finding the property in a tuk tuk when we arrived in the dark.

Location - lovely views and only 10 mins walk down railway line to Ella

Taxi dropped us off at top of road leaving us yo 800m walk with suitcases.

Lovely big terrace with a sunrise view which I really enjoyed. Room was spacious and comfortable. Family were welcoming and helped with any plans for Ella. There was an issue with the wifi box and they didn’t stop until it was fixed. Breakfast was delicious. Ella just a short walk down the railway track.

Pleasant host and good breakfast. Beautiful view on the waterfall.

It’s hard to get on the car. The railroad is very close, so be ready to wake up at 6am with a train engine.

Friendly staff and great location not far from Ella. Using rail way by walk was another great experience.

Waterfall view from bedroom, bathroom and terrace. Lovely welcoming hosts. 10 minute rail road walk to Ella. Easy to see all of the Attraction that Ella has to offer. Taxi service was very helpful too. Breakfasts were delicious.

Very beautiful view from the room to the waterfall and very short way to go by foot to the Ella City Center. Dimuthu and his wife are very friendly and supportive when planning activties or Transport.

Very nice size room with a great location! There was a view of the waterfall and the train came through (but it wasn’t annoying at night.

The shower was cold, but if I’d mentioned it, they may have fixed it.

This is the loveliest place we have stayed in Sri Lanka and the highlight of our time in Ella. Dimuthu and Asangika are perfect hosts. We had Asangika’s dinners each night - real home cooking. WiFi good. Fridge in the room. Amazing veranda view over Ella Rock, Ella Gap and the waterfall. And the train passes right below! If we return to Sri Lanka we will return to Ella just to stay here again - but for longer!
