"Great welcome in Timintoul"

8.0

Amazing welcome from Les to her quirky home. So much memorabilia and decorative items to look at before we even saw our room! The whisky she offered on arrival was also very welcome. The house is definitely a work in progress as she admits but we found it very comfortable.

Nothing really ...it would have been nice to have sampled one of Les's famous evening meals but that was not available on the night we stayed.

"Warm, hospitable, quirky old inn with wonderful hosts."

9.0

Wonderful hosts, yummy meals (do arrange to stay for dinner if you can), quirky in a good way and felt like we were very much in their home. This couple has devoted themselves to restoring this historic site and they offer sincere and warm hospitality and a unique experience! The house is full of knick knacks and personality and the room was not fancy but was comfortable for our short stay. We really enjoyed it and will remember its specialness.

This was our last night in Scotland and it was a great way to end our time. IF you are looking for a typical hotel stay, this may not be the place for you. We had dinner/breakfast with the hosts, one of their friends, and 3 other guests, from Germany. We found it fun, but if you want to be left alone/on your own and don't want to chat with people you don't know, this isn't your place.

"A true Scottish experience not just a place to stay."

9.0

Les greets her guest and instantly you are not just visitors. A toast, snacks, her famous fruit cup, and she cooked a dinner That was absolutely fabulous. She provides you with a true Scottish experience not just a B&B. You walk in as a stranger and you leave as a friend.

"Superb"

9.0

The welcome - 10/10. The ambience - 10/10. Supper with the hosts - 10/10 with excellent company, as was breakfast. Location -10/10. Really good value and a highpoint of our holiday

The bedroom was smallish and the bed a little less comfortable than we are used to, but more than acceptable for a B and B. (The en-suite Bathroom was fine and appropriately equipped).

"We will always remember our experience at Gordon House as being very unique. Les and John were extremely welcoming and n"

We booked the Family Suite which allowed us the luxury of having a room for our luggage and a room for us to relax. Les (Lesley) was a born entertainment package. We had the pleasure of participating in 2 dinner parties, in addition to 3 breakfasts, and it was delightful to met other people from other parts of the word and chat, laugh, drink and share experiences.

"Good intentions wasted"

6.0

Good location with friendly hosts. The room and bathroom were very clean and the little fridge was very handy. It was helpful that the extra room was made available to us for our belongings.

First of all, we ended up in the wrong business as the place around the corner had the same name emblazoned above their door. In our accommodation, The shower rose wasn't connected to the wall. The TV wasn't available for us to choose what we wanted to watch and what was being watched contained a lot of profanities. When it finished we weren't offered a choice either so decided to head to bed. In the morning, over breakfast, a random lady, a friend of the hosts, came in, which ended any chance of a quiet breakfast. I understand that as guests we are treated as guests of the family but for the price that's being charged, being treated a little more like a paying guest, would be preferred.

"Les was an amazing host and went above and beyond in all facets of our stay!"

10.0

Les is a great cook and host! We hung out, laughed a lot, swapped stories and creeds till way past my normal bedtime...and the conversations were fabulous! The beds were comfy, and my whole family slept great and woke up to a delicious breakfast feeling refreshed and ready to go on to our next Scottish adventure!

Everything was great, there wasn't anything I didn't like.
