"Wonderful weekend getaway"

10.0

The staff are all so lovely, the food is absolutely wonderful, best full English I think we've ever had. They say you can tell quality when you taste it and wow, we certainly did. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant, my feather blade of beef was utterly divine! The spa is absolutely fantastic, they've covered all basis with an indoor and outdoor hot tub, indoor swimming pool, the outdoor hot tub is nestled on the decking surrounded by a sauna, cold plunge pool, a lovely 2 person swing and a chill out covered area. Plenty of seating dotted around and also an indoor chill area and a "quiet room" which contain two wicker loungers and 2 very lovely, heated stone beds, perfect for warming up when wet. Ample lockers and changing rooms/shower. Only one toilet though but that didn't bother us. If staying over you do need to book in advance, and you get 2 hours of spa access per day. It does seem to fill quickly so I'd suggest booking in as soon as you get your info email with booking link. There are chickens wondering around at the back of the building, which we loved and also some donkeys in the near by paddock. There is a lovely walk around the lake, you can take the long route or short, lots of lovely ducks and birds to see, swans and heron. The room itself was very comfortable, the bathroom is stunning with a huge rainfall shower (we stayed in Cransebill). Tea and coffee was replenished after our first night and the lovely Tony did check with us at breakfast too to see if we needed anything topped up. A truly wonderful weekend break was had. Thank you to all 😊

My only negative would be that the walls are fairly thin between the bedrooms and I could hear next door enjoying themselves! It wasn't a big issue for us at all however, but just to note!

"Beautiful location, amazing staff and food outstanding"

8.0

The location is beautiful and the spa facilities were amazing. Food outstanding from breakfast to evening meal. The staff were very attentive also.

Stayed in the b&b room which was lovely, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Would have benefited from a full length mirror and an iron as had to go down to bar area and ask for one. We feel the room needs a polite reminder about noise after hours as the guests in the adjacent room were talking into the early hours of the morning and we ended up knocking on the door to ask them to be quiet. It was recommended by staff to walk round to the spa in robes etc if we wanted too. This was easier then taking clothes to get changed but getting there involved walking on pebbles around the back of building where chefs were un kitchen it wasn’t lit well and felt a bit weird whether dressed or in spa robes. I was also a little disappointed that I had mentioned numerous times it was for my partners 50th and this wasn’t acknowledged until we left as a passing comment. Even a candle in his pudding or something simple like that would have been thoughtful.
