FIGTREE GUESTHOUSE

Great value for money and good location.

Nice with a small guesthouse and not a big hotel.

The guesthouse made a mistake and gave me a room that was less good than the one I paid for. It was changed, when I made a comment on this. If I had not said anything, I would have paid for something I did not get.

Very clean, breakfast met expectations, friendly staff 😊

There’s nothing. The place is safe. However, the parking is too limited I was wondering what would’ve happened if many guests arrived at the same time.

This guesthouse is delightful in a very convenient location. The staff were extremely helpful, suggesting places to eat and visit, booking taxis for us and accommodating very early breakfast to fit our daytrips. They were also very flexible and moved our reservation to the next day when our flight from Vilanculos was cancelled. The location is excellent to visit the Polana Cimento area of town. Some taxi drivers needed extra instructions to find it, but it was enough to say that it was near the Igreja Polana and it generally worked out. Also, do not expect a long drive from the airport, 20 minutes and you are there.

Good security and off street parking. Efficient reception. Staff arranged and paid for my Taxi as I did not have local currency and charged this to my bill. Very friendly and gracious owner. Nice garden and pool area for complete relaxation. Breakfast was good enough. Room and bathroom are spacious enough although dated finishes and equipment. I appreciated the comprehensive mosquito netting around bed posters and the refrigerator and enough bottled water supplied free of charge. I will most definitely stay over again.

No name board on front gate/ fence. So we drove past in the first instance Neighborhood could be quite noisy from time to time with vehicle noise and dogs barking.

We absolutely loved our stay at the FigTree… it’s home away from home! The staff are incredible, the breakfast is delicious and the rooms and space are so beautifully done and comfortable. We have also visited and stayed here for work, and I cannot recommend staying here highly enough if you want a warm, friendly and comfortable stay in Maputo. (And the views of the sea are lovely and so is the swimming pool and garden!!)

found it noisy, coffee station in the room but no kettle . one needs to go 2 floors down for boiling water. shower poor , very little water flow .
