"Very smooth, comfortable visit."

10.0

I liked the informality. The host lives in the house too, but I had my own wing of the house, and there was plenty of privacy. He knows all about the town, and can tell you anything you need to know.

The weather was terrible.

Cosy, with very hospitable host and had all the facilities we needed as we continued our SWCP walk

Perhaps a hairdryer would be good

"Little gem"

9.0

Gingko gave us a warm welcome to his peaceful home - an eclectic mix of Victoriana, art and contemporary comfort. The cottage is only a 10 minute walk along the river to the town. Beds were deliciously comfortable.

I liked everything about our stay but think the stairs could be an issue for some

"Perfect for walkers of the coastal path and a few days 'get-away'."

10.0

Ginkgo owns this gorgeous old cottage, nestled in a peaceful and quiet area - just a two minutes walk from Dawlish Lawn! It was lovely to stay in such an old cottage, with your own little corridor, bedroom and bathroom. He gave us a super warm welcome, recommended places to eat that evening and places for breakfast! He really does know the area very well! We were walking 2 days of the coastal path, with an overnight stop in Dawlish - 1 Laurel Cottage was perfect for us and we would recommend the cottage from an overnight stop for walking, to a longer few days get-away. The instructions to find the cottage were easy to follow, and even though we arrived a little earlier than expected (we walked faster than we thought!) Ginkgo was very accommodating. I think the best recommendation to give is - we will definitely stay again when walking in the area!

Nothing!

"Thank goodness it was just one night!"

5.0

To be honest not a lot! Tiny and cramped, nowhere to park at the property, narrow stairs, small room and tiny shower. To be fair the owner was very nice and friendly.

See above. The room was not as appeared in the booking photos, very small and although seemed clean enough it was not homely and welcoming! There was a small bathroom with a huge boiler and pipes which made quite a lot of noise whenever other people in the property used the water, the shower was separate and appeared to be built into a cupboard space, strange and very small! No bath as advertised! The curtains were poorly hung and having off in places! Just not the standard we expected for the price!
