Chart House Bed and Breakfast

Very good continental breakfast...very welcoming hostess, excellent situation on outskirts of Dorking....

Nothing wrong at all....I hadn't realised that the room wasn't en suite but that's probably my fault for not reading the details carefully when I booked...

Marvellous location just 10 mins walk to the main street of Dorking and only a mile and a half or so from Box Hill. Absolutely lovely garden which is not that of use unless you wish to sit in it, in which case you will be very happy! The accomodation was very clean and well maintained. The owner Jill very pleasant and helpful.

The 10ftx10ft bedroom was immaculately clean and warm, and it's associated bathroom was even better. Nice hot shower with good pressure. Problem was the very small size of the room for the price asked. Also the bedsheets/duvet cover were very tired, new crisp bedclothes would be a big improvement.

Das The Chart House liegt in einer recht ruhigen Straße von Dorking und verfügt über ausreichende Parkmöglichkeiten auf dem Grundstück sowie einen traumhaften Garten, der von den Gästen genutzt werden darf. Neben diversen Sitzgelegenheiten gibt's hier ein riesiges Gehege mit Alpakas (keine Streicheltiere), Hühner und einen kleinen Koi-Teich. Wir hatten ein Doppel- und ein Einzelzimmer gebucht. Beide waren hübsch eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Nicht ganz so toll war das Gemeinschaftsbad, da haben wir bei der Buchung wohl nicht aufgepasst (stand da). Auch dieses Bad mit Wanne und separater Dusche war sehr sauber und modern mit Fußbodenheizung ausgestattet. Zum Frühstück: Nun, wir sind nicht sooo die Fans von süßem Frühstück. Marmeladen und Cerealien jeder Art gab's reichlich. Der Kaffee war auch gut. Am 2. Tag haben wir dann um Spiegeleier gebeten. Das war kein Problem, allerdings wurde uns ein komplettes Full English Breakfast berechnet, war also für je 2 Spiegeleier dann arg teuer.

Exquisite gardens. And I sat in the sunshine to unwind after a long drive. Enjoyed my bedroom and even had a hand basin and small fridge in which was a bonus

Jill was awful to me. I completely agree with another bad review of this place, where they said they felt unwelcome. I felt I wasn't wanted there. She also would tell me one thing then completely have a go at me when I did it. She was nice at first and I liked her but she turned on me. Also, tiny room. I don't think she deserved my money at all. Oh and you have to pay TEN POUNDS per person per cooked breakfast!!! Disgusting. She had such a go at me, and made me so cross. I honestly wouldn't go here if I were you. I know she will reply to this, as she has the other bad reviews, and say anything to protect herself and her business. But seriously, I recommend you don't go here, unless you want a tiny, bad value room with a shared bathroom, have to pay extra for each cooked breakfast even though you'd think it would be included in the price, and if you want a stuck-up, prudish nasty woman to have a go at you. I would never go here again, not even if I was paid.
