"27" Spathodea- Oasis in the City

Location, ambience, cleanliness, food and amazing help from Sita.

We had one Night in the nice accomondation. We really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast in the morning. The rooms and the whole house has a very nice interieur. Our room had air conditioning and the bed was very comfortable.

A Bit far from the inner City of colombo

Great greeting by an enthusiastic host, eager to share his extensive knowledge of Colombo and Sri Lanka in general. Good size room with comfortable bed, adequate shower facilities. Lovely breakfast with what we later found to be typical Sri Lanka breakfast fare. Staff were all eager to please and nothing was too much problem.

The location in Havelock town was a good ride away from the main Colombo city, maybe 10-15 minutes with kamikaze bus drivers! The local Tuk and taxi drivers didn't appear to know where the accommodation was as it was tucked away, but didn't cause too much of a problem.

Communication, staff, beautiful property, dog, comfortable bed, eggs and coconut sambal, location is great.

The perfect landing pad to start my trip in Sri Lanka. Everything was great- big comfy bed, modern bathroom, excellent breakfast, Sita’s wonderful hospitality. Her son drove me in his tuktuk to the train station on departure, helped me buy a ticket and even took me to the train itself to make sure I got a seat. I felt safe and well looked after. Thank you Glenn for the travel tips too!

Nothing really, WiFi isn’t great if good connection is essential for you but I suspect this will be the same in most places.

Excellent food. individual attention given by the owner himself.

Food and hospitality

Lovely warm welcome. Very spacious and comfortable room with A.C., comfy bed, lovely clean shower ensuite. Property is just set off the main road which made it quiet to stay, but a 15min tuk tuk and you can be on the coast or amongst main attractions. The owner also very helpful, and made an excellent recommendation for our final evening meal. We had a early start to airport so a take away breakfast was made for us which was very good.

I was able to finish my trip on a high note! From Sita's welcome to breakfast and the meal ordered in the evening, everything was perfect! The room was great, very comfortable. You feel like home. Sita's cooking is truly incredible. I really enjoyed it! Finally, the guest house is located in a quiet area, yet close to all amenities!
