Grosmont House

Breakfast was good and very tasty, fresh ingredients

The weather was particularly bad and we found the room cold on the first night but the second night the heating was on and it was lovely and warm

The location, the building, the hosts/staff and the breakfast - all fantastic.

The local pub was closed on the evening we were hoping to visit it.

This is a superbly located property right next to the NYMR railway station. The room overlooked the station. Breakfasts were superb, with plenty of choice. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful and car parking was good for everyone staying.

There was nothing which we didn’t like. Every aspect of the house was excellent.

We were booked on the NYMR dining experience and could not have found a better place to stay. The room was spacious and well thought out. The shower room was lovely with good quality soaps etc. Selma was a lovely hostess and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts were cooked to taste and plenty of choice. They provided a good start to the day. In a beautiful setting Grosmont House provided a good base for exploring the North Yorkshire coast, going to Whitby and of course accessing the NYMR.

The house is set off away from the main road down a track. A bit awkward but worth the small bit of hassle. If you have mobility problems there is a flight of stairs plus a few more steps up to the rooms. There is no lift. Normally I would have discounted staying but am so glad I didn't.

Beautiful building tastefully decorated and updated interiors. Peaceful and relaxing breakfast and communal area, lovely garden with grosmont steam railway station at the bottom. . Very good parking facilities which is important at Grosmont.

Slightly tricky drive on the small bumpy lane which gives access to the property. Single room didn't have any wardrobe or proper hanging facilities. Could be an issue on a longer stay.

The breakfast was good. Plenty of choice & as much or as little as you wanted. The only downside was the bathroom, not very big & no shelf in the shower.

The bathroom was rather small.

Location was excellent and useful for being a place to stay whilst travelling around

The room lacked power points and the toilet was a tight squeeze if you are over 5 feet!
