Great location to see Mt Batur. Such a beautiful place giving you a stunning view of the mountains and the village. Considering the price, it is really great value for money. Beautiful room and outdoor bathroom. Limited choice of food, but with very low prices. My husband enjoyed the local morning market very much! We bought several bags of yummy mangosteen and mangoes at a very low price.

However, two things you must be aware of before going there: First is there're hundreds and thousands of flies during the daytime in the area. If you keep the door open, the flies will get into the room, and they die very soon after entering the room, leaving lots of deed bodies. If you shut the door, it will be really warm inside, as there is no air-conditioning or a fan. Second, make sure your driver knows which way is safer to get there. Otherwise, call the villa to ask.

Pinggan Caldera is rather remote and requires your own transportation to get there, but boasts beautiful views of Mount Batur and the surrounding area, especially early in the morning at sunrise. The rooms were decent and so was breakfast. If you have your own transportation and are willing to stay some distance from the town itself, this is a good option to consider.
