Manel Villa

Great location , a short minute walk from the beach which was lovely. Harsha the host was very efficient , as were the other staff . Good food and breakfast . I needed a taxi last minute to the airport and he arranged that for me at short notice . He also took me around to the city center to look around. Restaurants and basic shopping is on the main road close by. The dogs on the property were very friendly too !

The only downside was there was no hot water . A little difficult on a rainy day . Sheets seemed a bit moist but the room and bathroom were super clean .

Great location, just a short walk to the beach. The room was fantastic for a family of 4 (upstairs). The rooms were large and clean. It was so quiet and peaceful and all you could hear was the waves and an occasional train go by. The host and his parents were great- very friendly and helpful.

Didn't have any hot water when we were there- not that it really mattered as it was a hot day. We had breakfast and I was a bit shocked at the price- a bit over priced for what we got. Still delicious, but expensive.

Room was very spacious will AC and plenty of furniture. Not too far to the beach. 2 dogs on the property that loved to keep you company. Host also arranged for us to do boat safari including a tuk tuk driver.

Not sure if the pictures have been enhanced or if theyve let the property go a bit as the outside didnt look like the pictures. Only one sunbed to use on the beach which didnt look great so we ended up going to a nearby hotel to use their loungers and get some drinks. There was also a lot of really big mosquitoes around this hotel. I get bitten a lot usually without ever seeing a mosquito but here i could see them all flying about and would find several of the mosquitoes on me at one time. I got more bites in my two days here than the previous 12 days in sri Lanka and this was the only hotel (1 of 7) we stayed at that did not have a mosquito net over the bed.

The hotel was near the beach and not too far from the train station.

The owner was clearly not maintaining the property during the low season. The room smelled of mold and did not have any mosquito net. I found a half empty water bottle in my fridge when I came in. I don't think the towel had been washed from previous guests. Overall, I was really disappointed as the reviews for this place were very good.

We had a wonderful stay at Mabel villa. The apartment was very spacious and had everything you could want. The bed was comfortable and the aircon worked well! The owner was very kind and helped us with our tuk tuk as we were having a few issues. Location was lovely trainline and beach at the bottom of the garden!

Spacious room with AC . Very delicious food cooked by the host Harsha. He also arranged local tours and taxi. A minute walk through a very beautiful garden with fireflies to the beach.
