Good location

Firstly, they told me I hadn’t paid for the room, and I had, had to show them a statement as proof. Secondly, we had paid for a superior room, when shown the room we were told there was a leak in the ceiling and the bed had been pushed flush with the wardrobe, and the manager said to be careful of the wet floor! Finally, we had booked the restaurant that evening for 19:00, when we tried to order at least 10 items were no longer available as the kitchen had underestimated their delivery. When the manager asked how my stay was, I said it wasn’t great -and he asked why! When I said not great, he replied ’no it wasn’t was it’

The food was good. The room was clean and comfortable.

I couldn't work out how to control the room temperature as it was rather cool in the morning.

A quaint building, with ancient hand-hewn roof timbers, but modern additions such as shower and toilet. Cast-iron downspout hoppers made for interesting light shades in the breakfast room. The wisteria was fabulous

The service from everyone there was so personal and exceptional. The food is amazing and brilliant value for money.

Very pleasant staff who were happy to help with any queries. The food was great but huge portions! Lovely bar with excellent selection of bourbon!

The shower in the suite is a bit fiddly to use but still very nice.

Stay here a lot when visiting in Aylesbury so have got to know the staff well. Honest place, great team and enjoy staying
