"Friendly hospitality in a comfy small hotel"

8.0

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has been nicely decorated including the room I was in. The bed was very comfortable and I heard no outside noise during the night. The cooked breakfast was good; all self service.

The room I had was fine but the shower was fitted in a difficult position to use.

"Has potential - but wouldn't recommend or return"

6.0

Location is good - very close to Winter Garden / Tower / Centre of town etc. Has the potential to be good especially because of the location, but putting up Instagram able wallpaper doesn't make a good hotel. The hotel is full of quick / temporary fixes which look bad in real life and really needs a good deep clean.

No one there to let us in when we arrived, had to call and wait for owner to return. Room was very dirty - a lot of dust especially in the bathroom, a left over product in the bathroom (so clean between guests wasn't very good) Carpets were not clean in the bedroom. The room was very cold from around 10pm - 8am, this combined with the draft from the window and noise from people flushing toilets in other rooms above a bed meant disturbed sleep every night. DANCE / CHEER COMEPTITORS For those considering the hotel as somewhere to stay for dance/cheer competitions at the Winter Garden / Tower ; There is little parking available outside so you will need to drop off all of your bags and then park away from the hotel (would recommend Central Muti-story car park - secure and reasonable price and has a charger). There is very little hanging space for dresses/suits/costumes or for storing any luggage/bags There is no full length mirror in the room / table and chair to sit at to do make up or hair Breakfast is 9am - 10am so will not be of any use to those with early starts If you have a front facing room it is very noisy from around 12am - 3am at weekends

"Warm and welcoming."

8.0

The hotel was very welcoming, and the whole process of checking in and being shown around was nice and simple. The owner was super friendly and appeared to be available at all times to provide any support. The room was very basic and not particularly big. However, this is exactly what we were expecting when we booked so this did not come as a surprise. It was nice and clean and a great temperature. The bed was comfortable, and it was clear to see that they kept on top of the cleanliness. The Wi-Fi was also very quick and easy to connect to. The location was fantastic as it was very short walk away from the centre, and from the secure car park that we chose. Although we didn’t actually have any breakfast, it smelt lovely. The dining room was also very clean and easy to access. The instructions for getting into the hotel were super clear and we didn’t have any issues getting in following a late night out. The owner was also sure to greet us on when we were checking out and asked about our stay. We will certainly be retuning in the future.

Nothing…. It was exactly what we expected it to be.

"The Rockley- a place of a great welcome, great value and great food!"

8.0

On first arriving at the Rockley one was given a warm welcome and received clear instructions about gaining access to the building after 10pm. Imagine the joy one felt when breakfast was revealed to be 9am-10am and checkout by 11am. Ah the joy of a lie in! My single room was more than adequate with a portable radiator in lieu of a working radiator. This was utilised to combat the slight draft blowing through the window frame and the cold weather. The shower was excellent after one let it run a little. One soon learnt that it heated up quicker in the evening. Although rather bijou the bathroom was more than suitable for my needs. The location of the property was excellent near to the centre of town but away from it not to be noisy. The breakfast was delightful ranging from cereal, toast, tea, coffee, a choice of juice, fruit and a self service cooked breakfast. The advantage of this latter item meant you didn't have to wait for your cooked breakfast and could eat as much as or as little as one wanted depending on your appetite.

Perhaps addressing the draught issue with the window frame.

"A little tlc and this place would be so much better. A little dated and needed more cleaning."

7.0

Lovely hosts, very welcoming. Location perfect. Breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice

The cleanliness. Stains on carpets and curtains. Tea stains down the wall and on skirting boards. Dust on kettle.
