The Rockley Hotel

Lovely and welcoming family. Lovely clean fragrance around the hotel. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but allowed us to drop off our bags until check in. Good buffet style breakfast.

Room a bit on small side and dated but as we are not ones for staying in the hotel and for the price we paid, no complaints.

Nice and clean family run business had no problems going in breakfast was lovely help yourself , had no tea or coffee in room when arrived but said sorry and gave me some straight away would stay again not a full wk bedrooms bit small and sink was in the room not with toilet so bit awkward to wash when with others , shower was nice

Bunk bed mattress uncomfortable could feel the springs. does say pets which should just say small dogs only , not aloud to take any pets apart from small dogs

The Rockley is conveniently located close to the seafront and amusements, it is also less than 5 minute walk to the Opera House, Winter Gardens and Tower (including dungeons). We were in Room 2 which is a twin, it was a snug room but was sufficient for our stay. There is an ensuite but the shower is again snug. The breakfast included every morning is amazing, there was plenty of toast, cereal, some pastries and help yourself full English available.

The rooms are definitely aimed at those on a budget. Some may need a bit of updating or TLC for instance our shower holder did brake but these are minor issues and they did not impact on our stay at all.

Great value for money. Great location right near the Grand Theatre and the sea front . The breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. Sam was very welcoming and would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay

There wasn't anything I didn't like

The room was filthy and we found blood on the bathroom floor and stains on the bedding, I complained to the proprietor and had absolutely no response, we didn’t stay and left the hotel after 10 mins

Current owner Sam (Graham doesn't own the hotel anymore) is using previous owners photos and hotel descriptions but things are very different. Due to the lack of cleanliness, space, heat and facilities the rockley hotel did not accept my complaint and threw me and my 71year old mother out of the hotel on christmas eve. Manager Sam was very rude, he used the f word quite a lot and insulted me about not having any children. No refund was given. Christmas was spoilt.
