The Residence Hikkaduwa

We feel very fortunate to have secured 2nts last minute availability here at the end of our 2wk trip round Sri Lanka. It was by far the best quality property that we stayed in, with its boutique feel and with the best breakfast too…to top it off it had a lovely little pool and sun bed area. Chamara is a fantastic host. Thankyou for making the last 2nts of our Sri Lanka tour so special.

Absolutely nothing!

The property was clean, spacious and airy! We were looked after so nicely and the hosts were fantastic! The location is great and only a short walk from all the nice things the town has to offer!

We would have loved for breakfast to be included in the price but it was delicious regardless!

Do choose The Residence if you like comfortable living and excellent hospitality! Spacious, clean room, good, big breakfast, quiet surroundings yet close to the beach and good restaurants.

My husband and I flew on a honeymoon and this hotel will remain one of the best memories for us! Thank you very much to the owner and family of the hotel for accepting us so trepidly and with great respect and making us happy every day 🙏🏼 we were happy to visit Sri Lanka in such a pleasant place surrounded by kind people! These hotel have all you need, big and clean room with A/C and TV with english channels, big shower, also small fridge in the room. Is an excellent place for relaxing and having some time enjoying the swimming pool. The owner and the rest of the workers are super kind and they put attention to detail. The breakfast was delicious and a lot of food! Also, we needed a taxi to go to the airport and they booked for us. We enjoyed a lot the experience, it was a pleasure.

We stayed for one night at the beautiful Residents Hotel in Hikkaduwa during our last trip. It was very clean and tidy, with everything you need available in the room. It was furnished like a real 5-star hotel. The room was spacious and harmoniously decorated. The pool area was perfect for relaxing, with great sun loungers to enjoy the sun. The host even stored our luggage for our later departure and allowed us to use his private shower so we could enjoy an extra half day. Additionally, he let us park our tuk-tuk with him so that the tuk-tuk.com company could pick it up, which we really appreciated; not everyone would do that. Best place in Hikkaduwa,rReally recommend and we would like to come back anytime soon. Thanks Chamara

Clean and spacious rooms, close to the beach

Everything was great, literally! I expected much less but it is really like the comments say. Perfectly clean, way cleaner than other hotels. Even clean for German standards and since the owner worked in German hotels for some time, it is supplied with everything one might need, shampoo and shower gel, soap, vanity kit, safe, Minibar, towels, fan etc etc. Also two complementary liters of filtered water. The beds are really comfy and clean too. The pool area ist such a nice place to relax, the staff is very friendly as well as the owner and his family. It is very quiet, 5-10 min walk to the beach in a secure area. Directly in front is a very nice restaurant owned by the neighbors, were we had amazing Pineapple juice and our first curry. The breakfast is done by the staff, we tried Sri Lankan and it was great tea, some fruits and pancakes, rotty and curry, everything very delicious and more than enough to be full after a nice morning swim in the sea. We also liked that they took our low spice tolerance into account. Chamara, the owner, was so nice to drive us to our next destination when we asked and offered a very good price. He asked us what we wanted to see and showed us around some nice places that we would otherwise have missed. He also gave us many useful tips and told us about the history of Sri lanka since it was our first time. We couldn't have found a better stay for our first night.
