"Perfect Spot"

10.0

The hosts are amazing at what they do! Such a pretty B&B in a very interesting part of NOLA. Spotless clean. Nice dining area where I met some super nice other Travellers. The location is close to the City Park/Jazzfest. A few very good restaurants within walking distance of Rose Manor. The Honeysuckle and other flowers made the place smell heavenly! I will definitely make this my landing spot for future trips to New Orleans! Thank you for being such great hosts!!

Nothing.

"Great stay, wonderful hosts!"

10.0

Peter and Ruby are wonderful hosts. They are personable and make you feel as if your stay is their most important priority. I never was a fan of a B&B, but this one is different. It is very laid back with no expectations. Breakfast is continental with a great variety of good foods and coffee and snacks all day. There are 5 excellent restaurants within site and many more a short drive away. Location is exceptional, in a safe, well established neighborhood, and close to Lake Ponchitrain. Far enough away from the party that is New Orleans, but a short Uber if that's what you are looking for. It is a great price for the area and doesn't fluctuate with festivals, Mardi Gras, or Saints games like VRBO and hotels. The rooms are huge and well appointed with comfortable beds and linens. It is an old, well maintained house with tons of personality and eclectic, interesting furnishings everywhere you look. Peter and Ruby will be glad to share the history of the house and their many adventures, but only if you ask, and you should! There are many common spaces to meet with friends and plan your day together. I highly recommend the Rose Manor for your next stay in New Orleans!

The only drawback is not having laundry facilities,

Our favorite place to stay in New Orleans. You feel welcomed in a familiar atmosphere. Each room has different unique furniture, with a beautiful antique feeling and a very tasteful style. Every morning you're looking forward to go to the breakfast table and have a nice chat. They look after your needs and beyond that. For sure we will come back.

"A comfortable, social experience in a quiet lakeside neighborhood"

10.0

Peter and Ruby were great hosts—super friendly and willing to accommodate my multiple transport-related issues (most importantly, a very late check-in after a major train delay). My visit coincided with Jazz Fest, so there were lots of guests at the table for breakfast: social vibes similar to a hostel, but of course much nicer rooms! (I don't know whether this is the case at lower-traffic times, but get the impression that Peter and Ruby at least can be counted on for breakfast conversation if needed.) The rooms themselves were air-conditioned, quiet, with super comfy beds and daily housekeeping.

Not necessarily a negative, but note the distance to the French Quarter. Public transit is an option but fairly inefficient (a ~1hr trip vs. a 15-minute drive) and, after 8pm, will still require a walk of a half-mile or more. (Ubers were extremely expensive due to Jazz Fest, but may be more of an option at other times.) On the other hand, the location encourages you to spend some time doing stuff that might be more annoying if you're staying in the French Quarter, like visiting City Park or the lakeshore.

"We would stay there again."

9.0

super friendly owners; lovely home with so many antiques to look at

Difficulty with air conditioning as it is central air and was often too cold. Needed to climb on a chair to adjust the A/C vent. Would have preferred more variety with the breakfast offerings.

Die herzliche Aufnahme durch das Vermieterehepaar. Ein Haus wie ein Museum. An jeder Ecke etwas zu entdecken. Kein Hotelcharakter, sondern familiäre Atmosphäre. Hier kann man sich nur wohlfühlen. Gute Restaurants in Laufentfernung.

Etwas hochpreisiger als Hotels, aber das Geld auch wert.

"It feels safe, warm, inviting, peaceful and comfortable. It’s wonderful!"

I love the Rose Manor Inn because it feels like I’m staying in a good friend’s home.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
